How we migrate websites to Craft CMS

It’s good to have you here. This feels like the right moment to properly introduce the Engage we’ve become, and to share a little of the story behind what’s changed – not least our new website – ta-da! – what’s stayed the same, and where we’re headed next.
This isn’t merely a fresh coat of paint. It’s a genuine reintroduction to a business that has spent the last few years quietly – and not so quietly – becoming something more.
If you've worked with us before, some of this will feel familiar. If you're new here, welcome.
Engage has been in business for nearly two decades. In that time, we've built something we're genuinely proud of – a team of talented people, an incredibly strong culture, long-term client relationships and a body of work we’re chuffed to put our name to.
But businesses don't stand still. And the most significant chapter of ours began in June 2024, when we became employee-owned.
It wasn't a decision we arrived at lightly. There were other routes available – private equity, a network acquisition, the usual options that come with building something of value. We'd seen those stories play out elsewhere. They rarely end well for the thing that made the business worth acquiring in the first place.
Employee ownership offered a different path. One that lets us protect what makes Engage special, reward the people who help create that value and build a structure where everyone has a genuine stake in what comes next. Less "them and us". More "we're all in this together" – and we mean that in the least cringe-worthy way possible.
It's changed how we think, how we make decisions and how we show up for each other and for clients. And it's worked. More on that shortly.
We're not shy about where we're heading.
Our vision is to become the most successful employee-owned agency in the UK.
One that everyone’s proud to own - where extraordinary people do extraordinary work, driving success we all share in.
That's a bold thing to say out loud. We're aware of that. But we think ambition is only worth having if you're willing to state it clearly – and then back it up.
As Engage has evolved, it's become more important to articulate not just what we do, but how we do it. Our values have always existed in practice. What's changed is that we've now taken the time to define them properly, and to embed them in how we lead, how we recognise great work and how we develop our people.
Attention to digital™ is our standard. It's the craft. Care in the detail, excellence in the execution and work that is thoughtful, considered and effective. It's been part of Engage's DNA for over a decade – and internally, it's the benchmark against which everything we produce is measured. Every brief, every build, every campaign.
Own it! is the mindset. Taking responsibility, showing initiative and treating the business, the work and our clients as if they're genuinely our own – because they are. As an employee-owned business, this isn't a motivational poster. It's the operating system.
Be the glue is the culture. The relationships we build, the trust we create and the environment that makes great work possible. It's what holds the team together – and what keeps clients coming back long after a project ends.
These values now run through everything: how we hire, how we reward, how we challenge each other and how we define success. We've even built our annual awards around them, shining a light on the people who live them day to day.
Here's the honest version: our previous website was around five years old. In digital terms, that's closer to geological. It had served us well, but it was telling an earlier version of our story – one that predated employee ownership, a refreshed set of values, two major industry awards and a significant evolution in how we think about what we do.
It also wasn't particularly fast. Or flexible. Or, if we're being completely upfront, something we were all that proud to send people to.
So we rebuilt it from the ground up. New codebase – on the latest version of Craft CMS, the CMS we swear by. New design system. New foundations that give us the room to grow into the next five years and beyond. The result is a site that genuinely reflects the business as it exists today, shining a light on our employee-owners, the work we’re proud of and the direction we’re heading in.
Alongside the new site, we've evolved how we talk about the role we play.
Attention to digital™ has been woven into the fabric of Engage for over a decade. It started as a tagline – our external promise to clients about the care and craft they could expect from us. It became an internal mantra. Then a value. Then, eventually something we felt strong enough about to trademark. Which, if you think about it, is a more meaningful measure of cultural significance than a Slack Emoji… though it has one of those too.
What's changed is the context around it.
We're all operating in an attention economy now. Every brand is fighting for time, space and consideration online. Attention is finite and increasingly hard to earn.
Brands now have a choice. They can shout louder. They can spend more. Or they can work with an agency that understands how to create work that earns its place.
That's the role we play. And it's captured in our new positioning:
We've often said that if you cut Engage in half, you'd find Attention to digital™ running through us like a stick of rock. It's a slightly absurd image. But it speaks to something that has always been true – and what this repositioning does is bring that thinking clearly to the surface, where it belongs.
You'll see it running through the new site: in how we talk, how we present our work and how we explain the value we bring.
We're still a full-service agency. But the new site brings a more considered focus to the three areas where we've built our deepest expertise, deliver our strongest work, and make the biggest impact for clients.
Websites: Digital experiences that are considered, crafted and built to perform. Not just beautiful – effective.
Digital marketing: Campaigns that cut through. Strategy, content, social, paid, SEO, PR – connected by a clear point of view and a relentless focus on results.
Activations: Moments that make brands memorable. From games to custom-built competitions that create genuine cultural cut-through.
These aren't arbitrary categories. They reflect where we've built genuine depth and where we consistently deliver our best work.
2025 was the best year in Engage's history, commercially and operationally.
We're not sharing that to boast. We're sharing it because it validates something important: that when people genuinely feel ownership in a business – not just on paper, but in mindset – great things happen. More care. More accountability. The pride in the work that already existed goes through the roof.
We welcomed 18 new clients and 15 new team members in 2025. We won both Digital Agency of the Year and Independent Agency of the Year at the Prolific North Awards, amongst others. And we continued to invest in things that matter beyond the P&L – from volunteering and pro-bono work to the kind of team culture that makes Monday mornings bearable.
The new site is both a reflection of how far we've come and a statement of intent about where we're going.
We'll keep refining our offering, raising the bar on quality, craft and innovation, and building the kind of agency that people are genuinely proud to own – and genuinely proud to work with.
If our vision is to become the most successful employee-owned agency in the UK, we won't get there by standing still. So we won't.
Take a look around. Explore the new site. And if you like what you see – or you just want to talk about what earning attention could mean for your brand – we'd love to hear from you!
